No Silence About Violence !!

No Silence About Violence !!

Dear Friend's Namaste

Many Greeting from RSKS India

"Awareness and compelete information" lead us to the success. An Vigilant person is able to fight for his rights, but when we talk about awareness of women towards their rights, we find that women are not so much concerning about that. Especially, women in rural areas are still not aware of their rights properly and in the lack of the awareness they are confined to sort of orthodox customs and rules and find themselves helpless. Being unaware of their rights women face violence every now and then and they have to suffer torments facing violent activities.

In order to heal the rift of unawareness among women, Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan has organized awareness program on a large extent in rural areas. In the series, RSKS, with the financial support of GlobalGiving Foundation, has organized awareness programs in 11 distinct remote villages under which more than 340 women and young boys and girls participated. Under the awareness program, workshop and awareness rally were held on several sensitive issues as prevention of violence against women, gender inequality, female foeticide, child marriage and others.

In the workshops, our activists gave information to women about their legal rights and conveyed message to oppose the social evils. The information gained from the workshop made rural women and girls made them aware of the issues and they took oath to make their villages free of violence and to establish ideal village where women would also able to contribute same as men. The rural men community also got joined the program through the awareness rallies and they appreciated our efforts and supported the program.

Under the awareness program, held with the support of GlobalGiving Foundation, a woman attended workshop with her young girl who carefully listened to our activists and at the completion of the workshop shared her views and thoughts with our activists.

The mother told that the marriage of her girl at an early age (child marriage) had been decided under the influence of her family. But, after attending the workshop they became aware of the issues and came to know about disadvantages of the child marriage. They had enough information regarding their rights to get help to oppose the marriage. She also committed to educate her girl and to make her future bright. The mother and the daughter thanked GlobalGiving and RSKS along with donors from the core of the heart to make them aware along with other rural women.

Thanking you for your kind cooperation and financial support. Without your generous donations it is very difficult for us to ''Stop Violence Against Women's in India !!''
