Meet with Villager ''Kishan''....
My name is Kishan (name changed) and age is 39 years. My family consists of my wife, two girls and a boy. My family earns income by farming. Girls also help in the work of farming. In our village, many types of conservative tradition continue till now, in which gender discrimination and girl education is prominent. I also got my two girls off their studies and continued the boy's education. Both girls were employed in household and farm work. Due to malpractices, there was discrimination between boys and girls. I never knew the wishes of my two daughters and never let them out of the house.
One day I came to know about “Lado Ka Adhikar “program is being run by the organization and a group of young children of the village is named as Yuva Saathi Club. My girls were also members in this, but as soon as I came to know of this, I removed them from the yuva saathi club and made them sit at home. One day when all the girls of the yuva saathi club and representatives of RSKS organization came to my house, I was consulted and counseled and informed me about the “Lado Ka Adhikar” program and the importance of the girl was explained. The girls gave information about the evils spread in the village and shared the problems faced by the girls due to this. Hearing all this, my thoughts changed .
I made my girls a part of that club. Both my girls and I were garlanded by the yuva saathi club and the RSKS organization and they also tied ribbons in my hand. I was also given a tree which I planted in the courtyard of the house. I now understood the importance of the girl child, after which I got my two girls admitted to school again. There was unintentional gender discrimination, but I am now proud that I have two daughters. I will take full care of my daughters. I will make all the people aware in the village so that they understand the importance of girl child.
Once again thank you so much for your valuable Support.
Many Regards
