The world is talking and working on women empowerment but still in some rural and marginalized areas, being a girl or a woman is like a lesser due to the social evils prevailing in these areas. Women and girls living in backward areas face so many problems in their daily life, problems like eve teasing, domestic violence, gender inequality, female foeticide etc. This is happening in these backward areas due to lack of awareness and the conservative thinking of the backward area people. This problem leads to lack of confidence in women and girls and it humiliates them very much. In this male dominated society, the voice of these women is never heard.
Keeping all this in mind, RSKS India team decided to conduct awareness program in 16 inaccessible backward rural areas. The program was named as Her Voice- 16 Days Of Activism program. In the awareness program, workshops, rallies, puppet show etc activities were used to raise awareness of pivotal issues like girl and women rights, End domestic violence, stop female foeticide, stop child marriage etc. This awareness program was being conducted with 456 women and girls of these inaccessible backward rural areas. Community members, village officials were also informed about the awareness programs. At the end of the program all of these women and girls took oath to never let any social evil prevail in their area.
“Her Voice- 16 Days Of Activism program” inspired and encouraged so many women and girls of rural backward areas. This awareness program told them the proper way to raise voice against what is wrong. Confidence was built up in these women and girls through this awareness program. The women and girls easily understood the whole concept because of the puppet shows, rallies, workshops etc easy to understand things done by the RSKS India team. These women and girls will now aware other women and girls too and will act as someone’s savior. All the women and girls who participated in this awareness program along with the village officials and community members thanked team RSKS India for this wonderful awareness program done in their backward area.
