Dear Patron !
In many areas, patriarchal beliefs and gender-based discrimination are prevalent. Women and girls face gender-based violence, including domestic violence and child marriage. Men are socialized to believe in their superiority, and the idea of women's rights is often dismissed as a traditional typical concept. Children also grow up witnessing gender discrimination and often internalize these beliefs, perpetuating them in their future relationships. These beliefs and behaviors have adverse effects on the mental and physical health of individuals and impede their ability to live fulfilling lives.
The life skills workshops conducted by Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan's team members at 15 rural villages aimed to address these issues. The workshops were designed to create a safe space where women, men, and children could engage in open discussions about gender and discrimination. The use of flipcharts, group discussions, and storytelling helped to make the workshops interactive and engaging. The team members used local language and culturally sensitive examples to ensure that the content was relevant and relatable. The workshops also included practical exercises to encourage participants to apply the concepts they learned in their daily lives.
The life skills workshops conducted by Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan's team members have had a positive impact on the rural population. Participants reported feeling more aware of the negative effects of gender discrimination and more motivated to create change in their communities. Men who participated in the workshops reported feeling more aware of their privilege and the responsibility they have to treat women with respect. Women and girls reported feeling more confident in speaking up against gender-based violence and discrimination. Children who participated in the workshops reported feeling more informed about gender equality and more motivated to challenge gender norms. The workshops have created a ripple effect in the communities, with participants sharing their knowledge with others and advocating for gender equality. Everyone thanked RSKS India team members after the life skills workshops from bottom of their heart.
