Dear Patron !
In many parts of rural India, there is still a lack of awareness about sexual and reproductive health, leading to various health issues and social stigmas. The girls and young women from underprivileged backgrounds are the most affected as they do not have access to proper education and resources regarding these issues. The lack of knowledge about menstrual hygiene and the unavailability of sanitary napkins is a major concern, leading to various infections and health problems among women.
In this context, Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan (RSKS India) organized an awareness workshop on sexual and reproductive health in different slums. The workshop was organized to educate more than 1000 girls and young women from different slums of Ajmer which belonged from underprivileged backgrounds and taught them about menstrual hygiene, sexually transmitted diseases, and family planning. The workshop was conducted using various interactive tools such as flip charts, stories, and group discussions to make the session more engaging and effective.
The awareness workshop conducted by RSKS had a significant impact on the girls and young women from underprivileged backgrounds. The participants gained knowledge about menstrual hygiene, family planning, and other sexual and reproductive health-related issues. They were also provided with sanitary napkins, which will help them manage their menstrual cycle better and reduce the risk of infections. The workshop helped in breaking the social stigmas around these issues and encouraged the participants to spread awareness among their peers and family members. Through this initiative, RSKS aims to create a healthier and more aware community where every woman has access to basic healthcare resources.
