In many rural areas, the lack of awareness and education on sexual and reproductive health poses a significant challenge, particularly for young girls who often face societal taboos and misinformation regarding menstruation. This knowledge gap not only hampers the overall well-being of school girls but also perpetuates harmful practices. Many girls in rural schools resort to unhygienic alternatives during menstruation due to limited access to information and resources, putting their health at risk. Understanding the urgent need to address this issue, Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan initiated the Sexual & Reproductive Health Awareness Workshops Program to educate and empower school girls in 42 different rural schools, impacting over 2100 children.

To tackle the dearth of information on sexual and reproductive health, RSKS organized comprehensive workshops in 42 rural schools. The workshops were designed to provide accurate information about healthy menstruation practices, promoting better sexual and reproductive health among school girls. Utilizing aprons and flipcharts, the program aimed to make the sessions engaging and informative. The focus was on creating habit change among the girls, encouraging them to adopt healthier practices, including the use of sanitary napkins. As a culmination of the program, each girl was provided with a hygiene kit containing essential materials such as sanitary napkin packets, handkerchiefs, nail cutters, soaps, and other hygiene items.

The Sexual & Reproductive Health Awareness Workshops Program had a profound impact on the lives of over 2100 school girls in rural areas. The workshops not only imparted crucial knowledge but also initiated a positive habit change in the girls' approach to menstrual hygiene and overall reproductive health. Providing hygiene kits at the end of the program addressed the practical aspect of the issue, ensuring that the girls had the necessary resources to implement what they had learned. The girls' happiness and gratitude were palpable as they thanked the RSKS India team from the bottom of their hearts. By empowering these young girls with knowledge and resources, RSKS played a pivotal role in promoting their overall well-being and ensuring a dignified and healthy adolescence.
