Hope in a Schoolbag.....

By Team | RSKS India

Dear Esteemed Donor, Namaste!

We’re proud to work with RSKS India, empowering marginalized communities with transparency and impact. Here’s one inspiring story of change we’re thrilled to share with you.

A Story of MAYA & SHIVANI.........!!

My name is Maya (Name Changed), and I am 38 years old. I live in a small rural village with my daughter, Shivani (Name Changed). Life in our village is simple but challenging, especially for a single mother like me. I work hard every day, doing whatever jobs I can find, from working in the fields to doing household work for others. It’s a constant struggle to make ends meet, and though I do my best, there are times when I can’t provide everything that my daughter needs.

Shivani is a bright and eager student. She loves going to school and dreams of becoming a teacher one day. Seeing her enthusiasm for learning fills my heart with pride, but it also breaks my heart when I can’t give her the things she needs for her studies. There were many times when Shivani had to go to school without proper notebooks, pens, or other supplies. I could see the disappointment in her eyes when she had to borrow from her classmates or when she couldn’t complete her homework because she didn’t have the right materials.

As a mother, there’s nothing more painful than knowing your child wants to learn and grow, but you can’t give them the tools to do so. I would often worry about how this lack of resources might affect her education. Would she fall behind? Would she lose her love for learning because she didn’t have what she needed? These thoughts kept me awake at night, and I prayed for a way to provide for her better.

Then one day, something incredible happened. Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan (RSKS India) came to our village with their "Education For Every Girl" program. The RSKS team conducted a baseline survey, and Shivani was one of the girls selected for the program. When I heard this news, I felt a wave of relief and gratitude wash over me. I didn’t know all the details yet, but I knew that help was on the way. Soon after, the RSKS team organized an event at Shivani’s school. It was a special day, and Shivani was so excited. I went with her, and as we arrived at the school, we saw the RSKS team setting up tables filled with school supplies. There were school bags, pens, pencils, notebooks, geometry boxes, drawing books, color sets, and more. It was everything Shivani needed, and then some.

Since that day, Shivani has been more dedicated to her studies than ever before. She no longer has to worry about not having the right materials, and I can see how much more confident she is. Her teachers have noticed the change too, and they often praise her for her hard work and determination. As a mother, I am incredibly grateful to RSKS India for their support. They have not only provided Shivani with the tools she needs to succeed but also given her the motivation to continue pursuing her dreams. I cannot express how much this means to me. Shivani and I will always be thankful to RSKS India for giving us hope and helping us move towards a brighter future.
