Dear Friends

Many Greeting from RSKS India

"Stop Violence against women in India" is a significant effort to prevent day by day increase in violence and outrage against women which is being materialized by Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan with the support of Global Giving Foundation and the Donors. Under the project, public is being awarded for the prevention of violence against women by several awareness programs as workshops, seminars, violence free journey, public rally, puppet show, road show, poster, wall painting, signature campaign on sensitive issues as prevention of violence against women, women rights, child marriage, prevention of domestic violence so that women may also live dignified and respectful life in the male dominated society.

Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan, in this quarter, has successfully organised women right workshop in 5 villages, poster competition on "end violence" in 2 schools, signature campaign in 3 villages, 5 legal awareness camp in which 1150 women, men and school children got awared. The program is being comprehensively supported by public. Marginalized deprived women are getting awared for their rights. There is an increase in self-confidence and self-reliance of women. Men are also participating and support in the stop violence against women campaign zealously.

Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan is preparing to organise significant programs at comprehensive level to get 2 remote villages free from violence and child marriage in the near future. These programs will mainly include road shows, gram panchayat approvals, administering oath and pledge by public representatives and officials of different communities to make the villages "violence free" and "child marriage free". Being "violence free" and "child marriage free"villages will effect the other villages in the vicinity and the villagers will have a positive effect.

Self-defence training is also important to protect and guard from violence against women. So, Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan organised a 7-days self-defence training program in Mangaliyawas, a village situated at National Highway 8, 22 km distant from Ajmer. 20 girls were trained by the specialist to play staff, sword and arms so that these girls may be able to defend and protect themselves from the accidental violence conditions, victimizations and teach the violents a good lesson.

"Stop violence against women in India" is having comprehensive public support. Women are so happy by joining the campaign because the campaign gets them support and a hope to live a dignified life.

Impact of the project: Sunita, a slightly built 28 years old ordinary woman, has married for 7 years. Her husband is a daily wage worker. Sunita had a happy married life but having no child even after 7 years of marriage there were some strife and disputes in her family for last 1 year. The conditions became so severe that her married life had approached to the edge of divorce and police had to involve in the matter. Sunita was victimized of domestic violence These days. Suddenly, one day, she came to know about "Stop violence against women in India" implemented by Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan, and she visited to the organisation's office. After listening her painful story, our counselor held her husband, Surendra ready to come for counselling.

One day both husband and wife visited the organisation for counselling. During the counselling, it was noticed that Sunita and Surendra loved each other so much and also had love between them earlier but having no child even after so many years after being married, they had a rift in their relation and the reason for that was their family members. Surendra's parents wanted him to get divorced and married somewhere else. Surendra was told about IVF technique in the counselling and it made him so happy. Also, Sunita had been aware for her legal rights. They now had the solution for their problem as IVF technique, they agreed for IVF technique to get a child. The organisation ensured and support them completely about the treatment from IVF technique. After 3 rounds of counselling, Surendra and Sunita are together living a happy married life. Sunita and Surendra got the happiness because of the support of Global Giving Foundation.
