2018 is drawing to a close and we are excited to report to all of you - as investors in the most vulnerable kids in Iraq - what the return on your investment (ROI) was.
Topping the list: a new Hope Bus 2! Building on the success of Hope Bus 1, Hope Bus 2 has been launched in a second poor neighborhood to provide tutoring, nutrition, health care, social services, and fun to 50 vulnerable children, orphans, and street kids. We know the power of the Hope Bus model and see it in the big dreams of the boys and girls who recently graduated from Hope Bus 1. Check this out:
What blew us away the most, though, was the girl who said she dreamed of being first female president of Iraq to prove that women can do everything. From a slum-like neighborhood to the presidency. Wow. By encouraging dreams like these, we think the Hope Bus initiative is a pretty good ROI.
But that is not all. The Street Lawyers and social workers have been hard at work too. Check out the attached summary of the hundreds of children who have been protected by Street Lawyers and given social services by the social workers on their team.
As with the expansion of the Hope Bus initiative in 2018, ICF will be expanding the team of Street Lawyers with two additional lawyers to help at-risk boys and girls in 2019! The need is great. But so is the will to make a difference. Thank you for being there for these children.
With warmest wishes for a Happy New Year!
Cindy
