Strengthen 60 Women Farmers in El Salvador

It has been more than two years since we started this wonderful project that has helped more than 60 women in the communities of Bajo Lempa and Bahía de Jiquilisco. We are excited to report that we have met our fundraising goal and despite many challenges, thanks to your generous support.

• 40 women are raising Creole chickens that provide eggs and meat for their own families as well as allowing families to sell healthier eggs at a fair price to their neighbors.

• 10 women and their families produced a corn harvest adapted to the conditions of climate change.

• 2 families improved their irrigation systems to support the production of grains and fruits.

• 12 women are implementing family vegetable gardens with the support of their families to grow healthier vegetables.

• More than 400 families have benefited from the improvement of the drinking water systems project in Puerto Parada, Usulután.

• More than 30 women have been trained in agroecological production to promote resilience and food security.

• Nearly 200 producers have participated in selling their products at organic markets and native seed exchanges.

This support has also strengthened our organization to be able to continue other key institutional activities including sea turtle conservation, ecological restoration of mangroves, and capacity building of leaders in the Bajo Lempa and Jiquilisco Bay.
