Dear donor,

We want you not to miss this third progress report of the project “Strengthening the health of 99 Tseltal families” that continues active in the communities of San Miguel Canxanil, San José Patwits and San Marcos Tulijá, in the jungle of Chiapas.

In December 2023, the fourth anemia monitoring day was held, with the participation of 141 girls, boys and adolescents, of which 54 were diagnosed with some degree of anemia.

Comparing the results of December 2022 and December 2023, the levels of anemia in San José Patwits and San Miguel Canxanil have decreased slightly (3 and 6 children respectively), however in San Marcos Tulijá the number has increased, so we are designing strategies to investigate and attack the reason.

Recently in February, families had training to learn how to obtain seeds from cultivated plants and thus be able to have their own reserve.

During this time, the women of San Marcos Tulijá and San José Patwits have put into practice what they learned in the bocashi fertilizer production workshop and are doing it on their own.

We are currently making quotes and purchasing materials for the ecological stoves and water purification filters that will soon be installed in homes.

Thank you for your unconditional support / Bayel hocolawal

Queridos donantes:
