Dear Donors and Supporters,
May this report finds you well,
October 2019 was a very fascinating for us here in YKIP! We did the second quarter of donation distribution on October. During the second quarter distribution, we distribute pocket money and Batik Uniform payment to the students and pay the school fee to the schools. We distribute the donation to 427 students under YKIP KEMBALI program, including 2 girls that you sponsored through GlobalGiving.
You might wonder why we also distribute the pocket money to the students. We learn that studying while hungry will affect the performance of the students. The pocket money that you donate to the girls will help them to study with full stomach, means better concentration during the lesson, and better understanding of the subject. Another fund distributed to the children is to pay Batik Uniform. Each school has different Batik Uniform, so that YKIP cannot provide the uniform during the beginning of the school year.
In the first quarter, YKIP collect the report cards of the students and we give the gifts to appreciate the best academic achievements in all program area. YKIP also encourage the students under KEMBALI program to participate in non-academic field such as arts and sport. Together with the best academic achievement, we also give the gift for students for their non-academic achievement. We distribute the present in the second quarter distribution.
Last but not least, we present to you the letter wrote by Wahyuni, a tenth grader girl that you sponsored started this year:
Hello, how are you? May you be in good health and always in the protection of God Almighty. My family and I are doing well here.
I am really happy that I can continue my study to vocational high school, and I take the major in culinary. I want to gain more knowledge in cooking, although at first, I was hesitated to because I could not cook western-style food. Although at home I always help my mother cooking, we always cook Balinese food. After trying, I get more and more excited to learn more about culinary. I was also worried that I will not have friends in the school, but then I have some good friends now.
During the last holiday, I took a vacation and then helping my family to conduct a religious ceremony for one of our extended family members who passed away. It was very busy days as I also need to prepare myself for the induction in the new school.
I would like to continue my education as high as I can and get a good job in a hotel industry. My dream is, from the money I earn, I will help my family and save some to open my own restaurant in Ubud area. After I have enough money, I will renovate our home and family temple. I would donate some money to help the unprivileged people, because I know how it feels to be in their condition.
Thank you very much for all your support and the assistance that you have given so far. I hope that God will always protect you, and wish a long life and the best of luck for all of you.
Best regards,
Wahyuni
Accordingly, we have proofread the letter without changing the content.
See you again in the next project report. Thank you for your kind support to YKIP, so that we can continue our program to support children, especially girls, from unprivileged families to finish their high school.
Sending you all the best wishes from Bali,
YKIP
