Dear Friend,
We have something exciting to share. We use pets and plants as tools to find comfort for the traumatized children at our children's home. They plant and water the plants and also take care of pets in a very special way. We learned that these (pets and plants) do not hurt them and our children seemed to find lot of comfort in them. Recently we read from a renowned organizational psychologist (Dr. Adam Grant) of Wharton School, PA that raising kinder individuals have a better chance to succeed in life than smarter kids, over a period of time.
Recently one of our dog gave birth to six puppies. Our girls took special care of those puppies and now those puppies are able to run around and kids find lot of joy in seeing them run around as well. We learned that 'Comparative Vulnerability' is a great tool to teach the concept of empathy to children. Couldn't be more proud of our girls for the way they took care of the puppies.
They are getting ready for Christmas. On December 1st they put up a Christmas tree and started doing Christmas shopping (courtesy of a local tertiary level hospital which gave them a gift of Rs. 500/- each for Christmas shopping). Lots of special meals and loads of fun. We wish you a very happy Christmas and God bless.
Regards
Ruby
P.S. Would you be kind to support a few of their needs during this Christmas season?
