With the resources received through the GlobalGiving platform, 50% of our children and adolescents have received aid for the transportation costs in the city to the National Cancer Institute. We have also given aid for traveling costs to those families who live in remote regions of the country (150 transportation aids in total). We helped 42 Venezuelan migrant families during the months of October, November and December. In order to measure the impact achieved through patient monitoring, a strict monitoring committee was established for patients diagnosed with "Acute Lymphoid Leukemia"; since September, 30 cases have arrived and all of them have been supported with resources obtained through the GlobalGiving platform.
An essential aspect and a basic need in health care is impeccable hygiene; for this reason, hygiene kits have been delivered to all patients who require them; these contain diapers, wet wipes, moisturizing cream, soap, shampoo, towel, talc, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.
Since most of the mothers of these children have been forced to abandon their jobs to take care of their seriously ill son/daughter, we have supported them with the basic foods for their family.
Through occupational therapy we have provided them with the basic school supplies for their homework.
