Diwali Celebration with Street Kids

Respected Donor Namaste!!

Children living in slums & street do not celebrate the festivals like people living in the city do. They are busy collecting garbage and earning penny from it because from that penny they get food to eat. They do not know the importance or why the festivals are celebrated? In order to let them know about the importance and also celebrate the festival of light also known as Diwali, RSKS India conducted Diwali Program in which RSKS Team members did following activities with them:-

All the 300 children from different slums were identified and survey was done.
Children from rural remote areas were also included in the survey.
Children along with their parents were gathered at a location where RSKS Team members told them about the importance of Diwali festival.
Sweets packet were distributed to all the slum and rural remote village children and all of them shared their sweets with each other.
New ethnic dresses were given to all the 300 children so that they can wear them during the festival and also celebrate the festival with new energy.
Slum and rural children also performed activities like dancing, singing, poem reciting etc in front of each other to showcase their talent to everyone.
Feedback was taken from their parents by which RSKS team can initiate the program in more better way next year.

This program was being appraised by the local authorities, parents of slum and rural remote village children, neighbours, village people etc. as this program not only gave them the knowledge of diwali festival but also made their Diwali more colourful and beautiful. Everyone thanked RSKS team from bottom of their heart.
