Manohar's Flight...

My name is Manohar (Name Changed) and I am 42 years old. I live in a remote village with my wife and 2 children. Disability is treated as a not good thing in our village as many people even do not like to sit with or see any disabled. I was disabled from my childhood and since that time, I have always worked so hard in my life. The people could move or go anywhere wherever they want but I have to decide earlier that which place should I go and is it so necessary because I am disabled from both of my legs so I have to face many problems while mobilization and this is the reason why my welfare Card, social Security etc are not made till now as I could not go many times for this. I am also not able to go to many family functions or at the village occasions due to my disability as I would not be seen in the crowd and any mishappening could happen.

One day some people from RSKS India came to my house while asking about my disability and then they heard all the problems which I was facing and then they told that are working in many villages for the disabled welfare in health, education, livelihood, social and empowerment categories and they would also support me if I would be interested. I quickly said them Yes and then after some days the RSKS team started coming to my house frequently so that my medical checkups could be done, to join me with the social security schemes, to support me in making welfare card etc govt & private schemes and the most important to provide me a tricycle so that I could also move like others without any problem and so that I won’t have problem while going out in functions or occasions. They also made me a member of the DPO (Disabled people organization) which works for the welfare of the disabled in villages.

Now I am able to move without any problem through the tricycle provided to me by RSKS India. I am able to attend the functions and occasions in my village. RSKS India team’s support in making my all the important documents and linking me with government and private schemes have let me have some money in the form of disabled pension. This money is utilized in taking care of my family. I was not able to have proper medical checkups earlier as I was having mobility issues but now I am easily able to have medical checkups as the RSKS Team members take appointment from the doctors and then let me know that at what time I have to be there. Me and my family thank the whole RSKS India team and the other donors from bottom of my heart for enabling me move freely.
