We are pleased to announce that we were finally able to get back on our communications, after COVID 19 severely disrupted our communications staffing. In the "Support 50 survivors of human trafficking project", we were able to exceed our annual project target by rescuing 59 children from trafficking. All 59 children have recovered and are currently re-integrated into their families, with some in schools while others are enrolled into various vocational skills programs.
Kobena (not his real name), an eight-year-old school dropout, was sold to a fisherman for GHC100, and worked for him for three years. Kobena worked as a fisherman from dawn to evening, every day of the week, until Challenging Heights rescued him. Upon assessment, Kobena had contracted Hepatitis B, with high levels of viral load. Kobena was also infected with Bilhazia, and had fluid coming out of his ears, which was painful. When Kobena was rescued, he was placed in the Challenging Heights' recovery center for six months, before he was reintegrated with his family. Today Kobena is 11 years and is in class four, one of the best in his class, very good in football, very playful, helpful and a great storyteller. He wants to be a footballer.
We are grateful to all of our supporters and donors for their support for Challenging Heights, and for contributing to the project.
