Dear Friends!
What we call small can have a big impact. Jackeline ( a double orphan supported by GLH under guardianship) was recently given a green T-shirt. Jackeline’s guardian depends on roasting maize as her business making very small profits to support other 6 children she is living with. She rents a house at 70,000= monthly and her profit is 60,000= (About £15 or $25). She largely depends on the monthly gift from GLH for Jackeline . The question remains, how about the other 6 children in her care? So, supporting Jackeline alone to live under guardian is indirectly standing with the other vulnerable children in the same house and the recent covid lockdown made the whole situation more sad. A special gift of Soap donation (20 bars) came in abruptly within the month -what a wonderful miracle when soap is very expensive and someone comes out to say here is the 20 bars, enjoy!!
The secondary new curriculum is more child centred and very practical: our secondary students have moved out of their classroom for different lessons -Agriculture secondary one class in the picture looking at soil samples etc. Allen and others too, got excited visiting Kasenyi Landing site (Geography study tour). They learnt about fishing, lowland, altitude, landscapes, features etc. Types of fish caught there, fishing methods etc. This field work question is compulsory every year and all should answer it. With the new term school start, children are getting on the road map of studies in a very difficult situation of high inflations rate.
Scholastic materials have become very expensive – exercise book at 1500= is now 2000= a pen at 500 is now 700= subsequently very hard to raise the school fees from the poor children within the community. We need to collect 80% of the fees to break even: This is a real problem for us. We want to serve our community and we need to pay our teachers and thus become self-reliant.
Very much hoping for good farm output – I recently had a discussion with a friend, about spiritual gifts around the gift of prophecy . He doubted this office to be present but strongly believes about a word of wisdom to advise me about early preparation for the likely coming food shortages . (In 3 months the cost of maize flour has risen by 50%: maize flour is a basic. Real problems lie ahead)
Needed
i) Good health to GLH children and staffs.
ii) Uncle Misa to recover soon
Received .
i) Institutional regular support (This prayer request has gone for years)
But again, THANK YOU. So much has been achieved. “It has been a good Month” but trusting God for June 2022.
Best wishes, James Mukiibi Mobile: 0759941493 Email: james.mukiibi@yahoo.comhttps://www.godslovehomeandschool.org/
