God's Love Home Newsletter - September 14, 2025
Dear Friends ,
Time can fly since my last letter was June 14 , 2025 . From now I aim to give updates every three months and hope that is acceptable
A lot has happened, and I wish to update you . As usual thank you for all you do for the children. Elizabeth, Cynthia and Olivious have continued at school for A-level work. Cynthia and Elizabeth are doing all science subjects and their dreams are to become a doctor and an engineer respectively. Cynthia is at Kingstone High School doing Biology, Chemistry and mathematics and Agriculture. She campaigned for the head-girl post together with other 4 girls and won the elections. She is now the Head Girl in a school with over 600 students. ( From GLH on self-study program!) She speaks good English, nice presentation and friendly to both students and staff. She returns every Sunday for service with us and works at church programmer where she is excelling. I have always cracked a joke with her that she would be a good politician but then she insists, I need to be a doctor to help others following my history that my guardian passed on in very complicated pain after reaching Mulago hospital where she lacked immediate care due to failing to meet hospital bills. Please pray or Cynthia’s health. There are many children under our care with big dreams but limited by high A-level school fees to qualify for the university . These students have always prayed for a sponsor for two years of A-level. Excitingly, you have been there for GLH meeting their basic needs of food, healthcare and education. Thank you
It is again National Exams time. You will recall my request for registration fees and God provided. We have 5 students in p7 and 6 in S4. Our UK friend, has generously supported them through physics online teaching. To remind you, 13 students last year sat all getting the certificate and they are able to find something to survive but Uganda has issues with work but they could survive on their vocational skills they have acquired throughout their life at GLH . P7 exams will be sat in November. Tragically one post primary child has lost their sight.
There are 201 children at GLS, around 40 GLH and 161 coming for study from their homes . GLH expects some fees to support GLH but this is not coming to fruition due to poor community of Kibwa. We are trying to use all the possible means to raise some money from the parents but of-course hard to milk the dry cow. Some of GLS students reporting for 3rd term
With deep sadness Cheryl, our Australian friend and advisor passed on to glory . We thank God for her support to GLH
Our friend , Mark from the Uk finally retired his role at GLH , checking on our monthly accounts, ensuring transparency, etc but with excitement God has provided John from UK to keep our books.
Prayer requests
-God’s comfort to Cheryl’s family
-Food provision for GLH and S and continued provision ($20 per child per month)
- Success in the GLS ongoing exams
- Health and well-being of the children
- Quality education at God's Love School
- Teacher salaries (average $114 per month for each of 7 teachers)
We are grateful for your support and partnership. Together, we make a meaningful difference in the lives of these children.
Blessings,
James
