Dear Friends,

Thank you for praying …we have had a long school holidays since  December 4 to 22 Feb(unusual!) due to presidential elections which took place on 18/Feb. I am glad to inform you that we resumed our school programme on 22/Feb and all started well.

This year my reports come to you quarterly and I bring News straight away from January to-date.

GLS students excited with the news of newly Introduced school uniforms for 2016.  Saying bye bye to the old colour (which used to get dirty quickly!) photo  attached.

Our work reaches over 40 parents/guardians to change lives and transform many within the communities of Kibwa and Katooke,… – but we never lose sight of what makes it all possible:

Your support has helped us reach people like  Nabakoza and Patricia  (Sisters), orphaned sisters’ under guardianship.  These children had completely lost hope to study, enjoy good diet…following the death of the parents.  The two girls can now study, be fed, and assured of treatment in case of sickness….  At GLH. Now becoming more confident for a bright future. Patricia hope to become a lawyer and Nabakoza, a doctor. The difference you help make in Patricia and Nabakoza’s life will ripple across communities and generations.

And changing the next GLH lives starts with you: GLH management is calling on 40 individuals to be Founding Partners in   this exciting year as we look for school fees to take back our students; - We need scholastics materials, school fees and maintenance fees .You will help us empower more children than ever.

November 2015,  Australian Friends  visited us for the Renovation exercise which was not completed due to limited time they had with us-We thank God for the work done ..Some jobs remained undone and the local team moved on with the a few Jobs.  See a few highlights for the Jobs done after our Australian friends left . photos attached

With the extra classroom as a result of renovation last year we are able to offer primary 4 this year at GLS ….Many thanks to you all who helped with renovation exercise.

Among the few tasks Friends  left behind was purchasing a nearby plot of Land due to an urgent need for extra classrooms (By having more rooms we should be able to enroll fee paying children for self sustainability) and Teachers staff houses. The purchase (50ft by 150ft land) was a success but the real challenge remains Money to build the proposed classrooms structure and Teacher staff quarters especially for Head teacher Busobzi  to move his family from Masindi to GLS (Kampala).  Busobozi  has just had a new born baby girl and I am sure he needs close contact with his family (1corithians7:1-3).

We work around the clock to make a tangible difference in children's lives. But none of it  is possible without people like you, and that's why we are calling on you to help. Previously we have seen taking our students through Primary as our target (helping only a few beyond) but then realised you cannot support vulnerable children for years and then drop them.2 students are under vocation education  two boys doing electrical installation and Vehicle mechanics respectively . We have another 4 girls who we would like to help. They want tailoring or hairdressing, neither of which require considerable equipment and both develop skills which have clear and immediate outcomes.

We can't put our most ambitious, empowering plans in action without 40 people becoming Founding Partners of our 40 children we care of.  Changing a life always starts with one action from individuals like you. Are you ready to take it please? 25pounds can educate and feed one child for a month.

Thank you for all you do.
