Day 2 of the 3-Day Leadership Camp 2025 was packed with purpose and energy as orphan participants stepped into roles of responsibility, teamwork, and environmental stewardship. Organized by Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, the camp aims to empower orphan youth through experiences that develop confidence, discipline, and a sense of civic duty.
On this day, campers took part in two impactful activities:
A Plantation Drive, contributing to the national vision of a Greener Pakistan
A Guided Hiking Experience, promoting physical well-being and mental resilience
Story of Change
For many of the children attending, this was their first time planting a tree or hiking in nature. One participant shared,
“I never thought I could help the environment. Planting that tree made me feel like I’m doing something important.”
The sense of ownership and contribution was visible. A camp coordinator noted how even the quietest children became engaged during the plantation activity, proudly naming the trees they planted.
During the hike, a group of boys who had never left their neighborhood before said they felt “free and brave” climbing the hills and seeing new places. These activities not only offered physical engagement but created memorable, life-shaping experiences that strengthened their connection with nature and self.
Use of Funds / Progress
Thanks to support from GlobalGiving donors, the camp was able to:
Organize a Plantation Drive with proper tools and saplings
Provide safe and structured guided hiking opportunities
Offer mentorship and leadership training throughout the day
These activities are part of a broader camp curriculum focused on transforming learners into leaders—with a strong emphasis on social responsibility and holistic development.
Future Plans / Next Steps
Day 3 will conclude the camp with leadership workshops, group presentations, and reflections that help cement the lessons of the previous days. Moving forward, we plan to:
Replicate this camp model in other regions of Pakistan
Introduce a “Leaders in Action” follow-up program for continued mentorship
Track participant progress through alumni engagement activities
