During the past three months, the activities in Garden of possibilities were focused on the maintenance and care of the greenhouse, as well as on joint work with our volunteers. In the greenhouse, we grew different crops such as peppers, eggplants, tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, peas and potatoes.
Our hard-working volunteers together with the members of the CIM team actively participated in the process of planting, watering and caring for the plants, and had the opportunity to learn about the principles of permaculture and sustainable cultivation. The summer period was extremely warm, which required regular watering and additional care for the plants.
Work in the greenhouse was followed by socializing and learning together, and at the end of the season we harvested the fruits of our labor together. We also organized several joint gatherings and cooking, where we prepared dishes from vegetables grown in our garden, which further strengthened the sense of community and team spirit among the volunteers.
Peace Week in September - we marked the Week of Peace, which again this year gathered a large number of participants through a series of educational, cultural and interactive activities. During seven days, we hosted our partners, donors and friends from organizations such as KAS, AIPG, MRV, FBA, OSCE, and numerous other guests.
The mayor of the municipality, educators, students, citizens of Sanski Most and many of our friends and acquaintances visited the week of peace. Through workshops, discussions and joint activities, we learned about peace, tolerance and the importance of togetherness, which made Garden of possibilities once again a space for meetings, dialogue and mutual understanding.
In this period, the preparatory activities related to the construction of a seminar house within Garden of possibilities also began. After obtaining the construction permit, we started with the basic preparations of the field. Depending on weather conditions and available financial resources, we plan to start the construction itself in the coming period.
In the future, this house will serve as a place for educations, workshops and accommodation for participants of our programs, which will make Garden of Possibilities an even more functional and meaningful space for work on building peace.
With the arrival of autumn, we organized an action to plant fruit trees in the Garden of Possibilities. In addition to socializing and working together, our volunteers planted more young trees, which further enriched our area and contributed to the preservation of the natural environment. This activity was another example of how we foster responsibility towards nature and strengthen the community through joint actions.
The past three months in Garden of possibilities were marked by numerous events, work, study and socializing. With the help of our volunteers and the support of our partners, we successfully finished the summer work in the greenhouse, marked the Peace Week, started preparations for the construction of the seminar house and realized the autumn planting.
In addition, we talked to the young people about the importance of recycling and environmental protection, and through practical examples we showed what the recycling process looks like and how different materials can be reused. In this way, the young people had the opportunity to develop awareness of nature conservation and responsible behavior towards the environment through educational and practical work.
The Garden of Possibilities continues to be a space for meetings, dialogue and joint action in the spirit of peace, togetherness and respect for nature.
