Dear Supporters,
Eight ladies signed up for our sewing course when we started; however, one had to postpone because she got pregnant, but the other seven are still driven and have accomplished incredible things. The crew will begin production on a dress, t-shirt, and suit as we begin the last two months of their training.
After completing this, they will take an action change exam, and once they graduate, they will be connected with the founder and CEO of our local corporate partner in South Africa. There, they will open their own business and, with our support, look to supply school uniforms to all nearby schools and sell bags, African shirts, tablecloths, and cushions at the local market, while others who struggled with sewing will begin to be mentored and trained to run it.
To ensure the success of this, we would ideally offer these women small grants and loans to help them start their businesses, as well as longer-term support to help them buy their own sewing machines. Any further contributions to this project that will be used to assist these women will be used to purchase a $150 sewing machine. After they graduate, we'll open our level 2 course and welcome a new group of level 1 students.
Thank you so much for your support.
