Project Report | Mar 4, 2025
Empowering female entrepreneurs

By Maisie Mayne | Fundraising intern

To our supporters,

In many townships, women with innovative business ideas face significant barriers to starting their own enterprises due to a lack of funding and governmental support. This project aims to bridge that gap by providing aspiring female entrepreneurs with start-up grants and access to essential business tools, enabling them to establish sustainable sources of income. Instead of repaying high-interest loans, beneficiaries contribute back to the program, creating a cycle of empowerment that supports future entrepreneurs.

Progress and Achievements

1. Entrepreneurial Training Success

Over the past year, 46 women have successfully completed our six-week business training program, equipping them with the skills needed to launch and sustain their businesses.

The program has focused on financial literacy, marketing strategies, and business planning, ensuring long-term success for participants.

2. Start-Up Grants Distributed

To date, 12 women have received start-up grants to launch their small businesses, ranging from tailoring services and baking enterprises to digital services and local convenience shops.

5additional women are in the final stages of our selection process and will receive funding in the next quarter.

3. Access to Business Resources

Graduates have been provided with sewing machines, stoves, and computers, essential tools that have allowed them to put their training into practice immediately.

Some beneficiaries have already expanded their businesses, hiring one or more employees from their local communities.
