Dear Friend of Imani House,
It was an epic summer for Imani House, Inc. [IHI]! We succeeded in providing rewarding activities and opportunities for children from disadvantaged families and neighborhoods in Brooklyn. Unique to say the least, Camp Imani this summer consisted of new activities, initiatives, and learning experiences.
Thank You for Your Donations: Your generosity allowed IHI to provide seven exciting weeks of summer camp to 150 children; including children with special needs. Your donations ensured that the Imani House summer camp remains free.
After years of COVID’s isolation, children experienced fun first and foremost. They were engaged educationally and creatively. Our main objective is to improve children’s social skills, leadership abilities and for children to form valuable friendships for life; all with no financial burdens for their parents.
This Year's Summer Camp: Schedules included African drumming, archery, arts & crafts, as well as STEM and cultural enrichment lessons; just to name a few. We also took trips to Bowl 360, the Bronx Zoo, and held a special family barbeque in Prospect Park.
Building Imani House's Future: After such success, we are now gearing up for camp next summer. With your continued support we will be able to continue providing expert staffing, trips, supplies, equipment and other needs.
The average costs of Summer Camp trips can be anywhere from $5,000- $10,000; so, one can imagine how far in advance we must begin our planning. Many times, we’ve had to curtail trips due to increased costs. Imani House looks forward to introducing our kids to many new experiences in a warm and welcoming environment.
Our Reputation: We are licensed, insured, and employ only the most qualified staff to lead in our programs; not just during the summer but throughout the year. Imani House is a leader in summer camp facilitation with over 22 years of experience in youth development.
Please remember the children of Imani House, the smiles and memories our award-winning programs continue to bring them. We thank you for your continued support and can’t wait to update you on the progress and success of our afterschool program this year!
