Dear Friends,
I want to begin by expressing my heartfelt thanks for supporting Charmaghz and for standing with Afghan girls as we envision a brighter future for education in Afghanistan.
Your trust in our work has been a source of inspiration for our team. Over the past months, as we’ve thoughtfully planned the next chapter of Charmaghz, your support has encouraged us to think deeply and responsibly about how to continue creating meaningful, lasting opportunities for Afghan girls, even in increasingly challenging circumstances.
Thanks to you, we are ready to launch a new phase of programming. This work draws on careful research, consultation with Afghan girls themselves, and our years of experience providing education in difficult contexts. Every step we take forward is made possible because of your commitment to standing alongside us.
This year, we will pilot three new online programs: an online school for girls currently excluded from formal education; entrepreneurship and employment preparation to support girls pursuing economic independence; and English classes to strengthen language skills for future education and work opportunities. All participants will also receive personalized, long-term mentorship, ensuring that each girl has a dedicated guide through every stage of her educational journey.
We are also thrilled to continue Parkhan, our online book club program, which we successfully piloted last year. Parkhan, a name combining two Persian words meaning “fly” and “read”, reminds us that learning is, and will always be, a form of freedom. This year, we are expanding Parkhan, welcoming more girls into safe, structured learning spaces, and hiring Afghan female facilitators. In 2026, we aim to reach approximately 400 Afghan girls across multiple cohorts. Your support makes this possible.
We will continue to share updates as these programs grow. For now, please know that your belief in this work has a profound impact. On behalf of our entire team, thank you again for helping us create lasting change in the lives of Afghan girls.
Warmly,
Freshta
