During the reporting period, the Secretariat of the Coalition for the International Criminal Court has focused on organising the ICC NGO roundtables, which took place between 19 an 23 June 2023 at the Court. During this week, Coalition members from various situations countries, including DRC, Venezuela, Palestine, Mexico, Guinea, Ukraine and Uganda, had the opportunity to raise awareness and engage with Court representatives on various issues of common concern. Some of the topics discussed included prioritisation of certain cases by the Office of the Prosecutor, outreach, allocation of resources, and engagement with civil society.
On 25 May 2023, the Coalition Secretariat organised a Workshop on judicial elections and vetting. The workshop focused on the ongoing 2023 ICC judicial elections and on the efforts to establish a permanent vetting process to assess the high moral character of candidates. It offered the opportunity to get information, share views and discuss how civil society can contribute to these processes.
