During the reporting period, the Coalition Secretariat maintained dialogue with Coalition members and representatives of the ICC, and the below is a compilation of some key developments:

At the International Criminal Court

This section highlights decisions and other key developments at the International Criminal
Court and the Trust Fund for Victims, including on policy and regulations.

Ntaganda case: ICC Appeals Chamber delivers judgment on reparative justice (1 November 2024)
Central African Republic II situation: ICC Pre-Trial Chamber II unseals an arrest warrant for Mr Edmond Beina (7 November 2024).
Statement by the President of the Assembly of States Parties on investigation into alleged misconduct by an ICC elected official (11 November 2024).
Venezuela: Registry Transmission of a “Request for Recusal of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in the Case of Venezuela I Due to Conflict of Interest” (12 November 2024).
ICC Prosecutor, Karim A. A. Khan KC, briefed the UN Security Council (UNSC) on the situation in Libya and urged the UNSC to assist in executing arrest warrants for suspects linked to a brutal Libyan militia accused of atrocity crimes in Tarhuna (19 November 2024).
Delivery of the decision on the sentence against Mr Al Hassan, who was found guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Timbuktu (Mali) (20 November 2024).

Building support for justice in the Rome Statute system

This section includes information on efforts at the international, regional and domestic levels to strengthen the Rome Statute system. This includes ratification of the Statute and its amendments, domestic implementation, as well as expressions or policies to enhance political support from States, their domestic institutions, and international and regional organizations.

Political Support and Cooperation with the ICC

ICC and Trust Fund for Victims at the ICC engaged with administrative authorities, religious leaders, civil society, women’s rights organizations and academia in Central African Republic, focusing on the Yekatom and Ngaïssona trial. (2 November 2024).
Deborah Ruiz Verduzco (Executive Director of the Trust Fund for Victims at the ICC) on Ugandan warlord, Dominic Ongwen, reparations. Not one government has paid into fund for victims of Uganda warlord, says ICC (5 November 2024).
ICC Office of the Prosecutor offered magistrates and officers of Jurisdicción Especial para la Paz
(JEP) of Colombia a workshop focusing on gender-based crimes & crimes against & affecting children from 6-8 November 2024.
Cooperation Agreement and Action Plan between the OTP and Colombia.
Statement by ICC Prosecutor, Karim A. A. Khan KC, at the International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict. The Office of the Prosecutor will launch next year a policy to advance accountability for environmental crimes under the Rome Statute (6 November 2024).
The Paris Court of Appeal is set to rule on January 15 on the alleged involvement of former Syrian
Central Bank governor, Adib Mayaleh, in financing war crimes linked to the Syrian conflict Guerre en Syrie: décision en appel le 15 janvier sur le rôle de l'ancien gouverneur de la banque centrale (7 November 2024).
Statement by ICC Prosecutor, Karim A. A. Khan KC, on conference addressing cyber-enabled crimes through the Rome Statute system (10 November 2024)
ICC Registrar Osvaldo Zavala Giler and TFV Chair Minou Tavárez Mirabal went on mission to the Latin American and Caribbean Region, starting in Colombia. It was focused on strengthening cooperation and engagement with the Court (13 November 2024).
