Support civil society in fight for global justice

By Angelica Wahono | Project Contributor

During this reporting period, the Coalition for the International Criminal Court (CICC) continued to advance the meaningful participation of civil society in international justice efforts. Through sustained advocacy and dialogue with ICC officials, states parties, and diplomatic stakeholders, the Coalition worked to ensure that victims, survivors, and affected communities remain at the centre of the fight against impunity.

Our Secretariat remained actively engaged with the work of the Assembly of States Parties and all organs of the Court, as well as with the European Union, bringing forward civil society perspectives — particularly from ICC situation countries. This engagement included participation in the 24th Session of the Assembly of States Parties (ASP24) held on the 1-6 December 2025, where the Coalition facilitated dialogue between civil society actors, states parties, and Court officials on key issues such as complementarity, the protection of human rights defenders, and the role of the Court in specific contexts through our side events.

To promote inclusive participation and equitable access to justice, the CICC continued to prioritise multilingual communication. Interpretation was made available in English, French, Spanish, and other relevant languages during internal Coalition meetings and engagements with Court officials and diplomats, helping ensure discussions were accessible, effective, and representative of the Coalition’s diverse membership.

The Coalition also maintained its trilingual website (https://www.coalitionfortheicc.org), which serves as a central hub for resources, updates, and analysis on developments related to the ICC. Available in English, French, and Spanish, the platform supports transparency, coordination, and collaboration across the global network.

Thanks to your continued support, the CICC remains a vital platform for civil society engagement with the International Criminal Court, helping to shape policy and accountability efforts through inclusive, informed, and rights-based advocacy.
