Update Report - May 2023
By Iona Proebst | Project Leader
Dear Friends,
We hope this message finds you well.
As many of you know the situation in Myanmar is not good and we are doing all we can to work with our local partners on the ground to support those who need it most. We will continue to support emergency response efforts and have funds reserved for this.
Tom and I are planning on going to Thailand at the end of the year to catch up with the communities we work with. We have not been able to go back since January 2020 and are excited to be finally returning. No doubt we'll have plenty of updates for you from our trip!
As ever, we are extremely grateful for your continued support, our work would simply not be possible without the generosity of people such as yourself.
Thank You!

Update Report - January 2023

Dear Friends,
Firstly, we would like to wish you a Happy New Year! We're looking forward to see what 2023 has in store and, with your help, to continue to support marginalised communities in South-East Asia.
A new year brings the opportunity to reflect on what we want to achieve and to put strategies in place to make these goals into reality. We plan to continue our support at the Koung Jor refugee camp, a community which we have been working alongside for well over a decade. Past projects include solar lighting, weaving centres and English lessons and we look forward to maintaining our support of project coordination within the camp as well as computer classes for the children.
We will also be monitoring the situation in Myanmar, keeping our ears close to the ground in regards to any ad-hoc support we can provide to communities which have fallen through the net of larger international aid organisations.
As ever, we are extremely grateful for your continued support, our work would simply not be possible without the generosity of people such as yourself.
Thank You!

Update Report - September 2022

Dear Friends,
We hope this message finds you well.
Just a quick update from us at TBF. The last few months have been fairly uneventful with the exception of having our 2022 AGM and submitting all our documents to the New Zealand Charities Commission. Despite the challenges of the past year we were impressed to see just how much we had collectively achieved over the 2021-2022 financial year. Thank you for all your help, without your continued support our work would simply not be possible.
Besides that we are delighted that one of our good friends Sai Oo recently got married. Many of you will remember him as he was our Education Coordinator at Koung Jor for many years and now has returned to the camp where he lives in a house with his wife. We could not be more happy for him!
Looking ahead we plan to do more emergency funding to organisations that need it most, dealing with both the ongoing crisis in Burma / Myanmar and the fall out from the Covid 19 pandemic.
Thanks again for all your support!
