It is always with great pleasure that we get to update all our supporters about recent projects and developments. Our goal of promoting sustainable community development in Southeast Asia is only possible with the support of generous individuals such as yourself.

As promised in the last report, we’ve been networking with our existing partners and reaching out to new organisations in Northern Thailand to find opportunities to provide marginalised communities with solar lighting. We are excited about the potential projects we’ve been considering and it is very likely that we’ll be implementing a new renewable energy initiative during the middle of this year - so keep your eyes peeled for our next report in which we can provide you with some more details!

Since our last correspondence with you, The Branch Foundation team spent three weeks in New Zealand - where the organisation is registered. We were busy advocating our work to those not already familiar with it and meeting up with our long term supporters. It’s always great to reconnect with people who’ve followed The Branch Foundation since its infancy, allowing us the chance to discuss with them face to face about how far the organisation has come since 2007 and important recent developments. One of our longest standing supporters had the following kind words to say:

“What I appreciate most about The Branch Foundation, and the reason I still continue my support towards their projects, is the fact that they keep engaged with the communities they support - listening to their needs and following them along their journey towards self reliance and sustainability”.

As March is the last month of our financial year, we’ve also been spending a lot of time preparing for our Annual General Meeting and planning for the year ahead. In the coming months, we’ll be busy with yet another teacher training at Koung Jor Shan refugee camp, enhancing the techniques of local teachers and continuing our support of their wages. We are also on the look out for new capacity building/enterprise development projects in the region.

So, whilst this time of year usually taken up with future planning and admin work, we look forward to providing you with some more project focused updates in the next report.

With gratitude,

Tom Rosen and The Branch Foundation team
