Strengthening Surveillance Following New Ebola Cases

Dear donor,

Recent reports of additional Ebola cases in Uganda and ongoing transmission in neighboring DRC underscore the importance of maintaining strong surveillance systems. While health authorities continue to investigate and monitor confirmed cases, our teams remain focused on supporting early detection and rapid response efforts in vulnerable communities.

With your support, community health volunteers are actively sharing information about Ebola symptoms and encouraging individuals to report suspected illnesses early. Handwashing facilities continue to operate in schools, public spaces, and transport hubs, helping reduce the risk of transmission in high-contact environments.

We are also supporting awareness campaigns that encourage communities to cooperate with contact tracing teams and seek medical care quickly if symptoms appear. These efforts are helping build trust and reduce fear, which are essential for successful outbreak management.

The emergence of new cases reminds us that Ebola remains a serious public health threat. However, it also demonstrates why investments in preparedness and prevention matter. Every community reached with accurate information, every household supported during quarantine, and every health worker equipped with protective resources contributes to slowing the spread of the virus.

Thank you for standing with us as we continue working to protect lives and strengthen community resilience during this critical period.
