Strengthening Cross-Border Health Communication
Effective Ebola prevention along the Uganda–DRC border depends heavily on strong, consistent communication between communities on both sides. Thanks to your support, cross-border health communication systems are becoming more coordinated and reliable.
Previously, differences in messaging and delays in information sharing created confusion and reduced the effectiveness of response efforts. With your contributions, we have supported improved communication channels between local leaders, community volunteers, and health teams operating across the border.
Community leaders are now actively sharing prevention messages, updates, and alerts with neighboring communities. This ensures that people receive consistent information about Ebola symptoms, reporting procedures, and safety practices regardless of which side of the border they are on.
As a result, communities are better aligned in their response, reducing misunderstandings and increasing cooperation with health interventions. Early reporting has improved, and response teams are able to act more quickly when risks are identified.
Your support is helping create a unified, cross-border approach to Ebola prevention—one that strengthens coordination, improves trust, and enhances the overall effectiveness of outbreak control efforts.
