Strengthening Community Surveillance Networks
Community-based surveillance is one of the most effective ways to detect Ebola cases early and prevent widespread transmission. Because of your support, surveillance networks in border communities are becoming stronger and more responsive.
Local volunteers and community leaders are being engaged to monitor health trends and report suspected cases quickly. They are also helping educate residents on the importance of early reporting and vigilance.
As a result, alerts are being raised faster, allowing response teams to intervene promptly. This reduction in response time is critical in preventing the virus from spreading within communities.
Communities are also becoming more proactive, taking ownership of their role in monitoring and protecting public health.
Your support is helping build a frontline defense system where communities themselves play an active role in stopping Ebola—making containment efforts faster, more effective, and more sustainable.
