Supporting Safe Food Supply Chains in Border Communities
Food supply systems are essential in border regions, where many families depend on daily trade and market access. During Ebola outbreaks, maintaining safe food distribution is critical to both public health and economic stability.
Because of your support, efforts are being made to ensure that food supply chains operate safely. Vendors and transporters are being engaged with awareness on hygiene practices, safe handling, and symptom recognition.
As a result, food markets are becoming safer environments, with increased use of handwashing and improved hygiene during food handling. This reduces the risk of contamination and transmission in high-contact settings.
At the same time, communities continue to access essential food supplies without disruption, maintaining stability during uncertain times.
Your support is helping protect both health and livelihoods. By ensuring safe food systems, you are enabling communities to meet their basic needs while reducing exposure risks.
