Strengthening Vaccination Awareness and Community Acceptance in Uganda–DRC Border Regions
Vaccination remains a critical tool in controlling Ebola outbreaks, particularly in high-risk border regions between Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. However, vaccine effectiveness depends heavily on community awareness and acceptance. Because of your support, efforts are being intensified to promote understanding and trust in vaccination programs.
Community engagement activities are being conducted on both sides of the border, involving local leaders, health workers, and volunteers who provide clear, accurate information about Ebola vaccines. These sessions address concerns, dispel myths, and emphasize the importance of vaccination in protecting individuals and communities.
As a result, more people are becoming open to vaccination, and trust in health interventions is steadily increasing. Communities that were once hesitant are now actively participating in prevention efforts, helping to strengthen herd protection in high-risk areas.
Cross-border coordination ensures that messaging is consistent, reducing confusion and reinforcing confidence in the process.
Your support is helping bridge the gap between science and community understanding—ensuring that lifesaving vaccines are accepted and utilized effectively.
This intervention is critical in strengthening regional protection and preventing further spread of Ebola.
