Organizing Border Community Emergency Preparedness Drills
Communities are the first line of defense in any Ebola outbreak. Because of your support, emergency preparedness drills are being conducted in border communities across Uganda and DRC to ensure that residents know how to respond effectively.
These drills simulate real-life scenarios, including identifying suspected cases, alerting health authorities, and implementing basic prevention measures. Community members actively participate, gaining practical experience in responding to potential threats.
As a result, confidence and readiness are significantly increasing. Communities are better prepared to act quickly, reducing delays that could lead to further transmission.
These drills also strengthen communication between communities and response teams, ensuring that everyone understands their role in the response process.
Your support is empowering communities with practical skills and knowledge- turning preparedness into immediate action when needed.
This intervention is helping build resilient communities that are ready to respond swiftly and effectively to Ebola threats.
