Deploying Mobile Health Messaging Units in Border Communities
Reaching remote and mobile populations with timely health information is a major challenge in Ebola response efforts. Because of your support, mobile health messaging units are being deployed across Uganda–DRC border communities to expand outreach.
These units use tools such as megaphones and portable audio systems to deliver clear and consistent Ebola prevention messages in local languages. They travel through villages, markets, and transport routes, ensuring that even hard-to-reach populations receive accurate information.
As a result, awareness is increasing significantly among communities that may not have access to radio or formal communication channels. People are becoming more informed about symptoms, prevention practices, and the importance of early reporting.
This approach is particularly effective for engaging mobile populations such as traders and transport workers, who are often missed by traditional outreach methods.
Your support is helping ensure that lifesaving information reaches everyone—regardless of location or mobility.
By expanding communication efforts, you are strengthening community awareness and empowering individuals to take proactive steps in preventing Ebola
