Strengthening Cross-Border Youth Engagement in Ebola Prevention
Young people make up a significant portion of the population in border communities and have a powerful influence on social behavior. Because of your support, cross-border youth engagement initiatives are being strengthened to involve young people in Ebola prevention efforts across Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Youth groups are being mobilized to participate in awareness campaigns, community outreach, and hygiene promotion activities. They are also helping identify and address misinformation within their peer networks.
As a result, youth are becoming active contributors to public health efforts, using their energy and creativity to spread important messages. Their involvement is increasing the reach and effectiveness of awareness campaigns, particularly among younger populations.
Cross-border collaboration among youth groups is also fostering unity and shared responsibility, reinforcing the idea that Ebola prevention is a collective effort.
Your support is empowering young people to take leadership roles in protecting their communities.
By engaging youth, you are strengthening the social fabric of the response—ensuring that prevention efforts are dynamic, inclusive, and sustainable.
