Enhancing Infection Prevention in Community Gathering Spaces
Community gathering spaces such as meeting halls, markets, and social venues are important centers of interaction but can also increase the risk of Ebola transmission. Because of your support, infection prevention measures are being strengthened in these shared environments across Uganda–DRC border regions.
Efforts include promoting hand hygiene, encouraging safe practices during gatherings, and reinforcing awareness of Ebola symptoms. Community leaders are also playing a role in guiding safe behavior during events.
As a result, gatherings are becoming safer, with increased adoption of preventive measures. People are more conscious of hygiene and are taking steps to protect themselves and others.
This intervention allows communities to maintain social connections while minimizing health risks.
Your support is helping create safer spaces for interaction—ensuring that essential social and cultural activities can continue responsibly.
By improving infection prevention in shared environments, you are reducing transmission risks and strengthening community resilience.
