Strengthening Community-Based Quarantine Support Systems
Quarantine is a critical measure for controlling Ebola, but it can be challenging for affected individuals and families without adequate support. Because of your support, community-based quarantine support systems are being strengthened across Uganda–DRC border regions.
Local networks are being mobilized to ensure that quarantined households receive essential supplies such as food, water, and hygiene materials. Community members are also providing emotional support and ensuring that families remain connected and informed.
As a result, compliance with quarantine measures is improving, as individuals feel supported rather than isolated. This reduces the likelihood of people leaving quarantine prematurely, which is crucial in preventing further transmission.
These systems also help maintain dignity and well-being, ensuring that public health measures are implemented in a humane and compassionate way.
Your support is helping communities stand together during difficult times—ensuring that no one faces quarantine alone.
By strengthening support systems, you are enhancing both the effectiveness and the humanity of Ebola containment efforts.
