Integrating Ebola Prevention into Local Governance Structures
Sustainable Ebola prevention requires strong integration into local governance systems. Because of your support, efforts are being made to embed Ebola prevention measures into local leadership and administrative structures across Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Local councils, village committees, and community leaders are being engaged to incorporate prevention messaging and response coordination into their regular activities. This includes monitoring community health, supporting awareness campaigns, and facilitating communication with health authorities.
As a result, Ebola prevention is becoming part of routine governance rather than a temporary intervention. Communities are receiving consistent guidance, and response efforts are more organized and locally driven.
This integration strengthens accountability and ensures that prevention measures continue even beyond the immediate outbreak.
Your support is helping build systems that last—creating a foundation for ongoing public health resilience.
By working through local governance structures, you are ensuring that Ebola prevention becomes a sustained and community-owned priority.
