Strengthening Collaboration with Cross-Border Transport Unions
Transport unions play a crucial role in organizing and managing movement across Uganda–DRC border regions. Because of your support, collaboration with these unions is being strengthened to enhance Ebola prevention efforts.
Union leaders and members are being engaged with targeted awareness on Ebola symptoms, hygiene practices, and safe travel behaviors. They are also being encouraged to promote prevention measures among drivers and passengers.
As a result, transport networks are becoming more informed and proactive in reducing transmission risks. Drivers are adopting hygiene practices, and passengers are receiving consistent messages during travel.
This partnership extends the reach of prevention efforts across multiple communities, as transport systems connect people and places daily.
Your support is helping integrate public health measures into essential transport systems—ensuring that mobility does not come at the cost of safety.
By working with transport unions, you are strengthening a key link in the chain of prevention and protecting communities across borders.
