Strengthening Community Engagement Through Local Leadership Forums
Local leadership plays a vital role in shaping community response during health emergencies. Because of your support, leadership forums are being strengthened across Uganda–DRC border communities to enhance Ebola prevention and coordination.
These forums bring together village leaders, elders, youth representatives, and local influencers to discuss Ebola risks, share updates, and align on response strategies. Leaders are equipped with accurate information and practical guidance to support their communities effectively.
As a result, prevention messages are being reinforced through trusted voices, increasing acceptance and adherence to recommended practices. Communities are more responsive when guidance comes from leaders they know and respect.
These forums also provide a platform for identifying local challenges and developing context-specific solutions, ensuring that interventions are relevant and effective.
Your support is helping build a coordinated and community-driven response—where leadership is actively engaged in protecting public health.
By strengthening local leadership structures, you are ensuring that Ebola prevention efforts are sustained, organized, and widely embraced.
