Promoting Household-Level Ebola Preparedness Practices
Preparedness at the household level is essential in preventing the spread of Ebola, especially in border communities where rapid response can make a critical difference. Because of your support, awareness around household-level Ebola preparedness is being strengthened across Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Families are being guided on simple but effective preparedness practices, including maintaining hygiene supplies, identifying safe caregiving approaches, and understanding what to do when symptoms appear. Emphasis is placed on early action, minimizing contact, and promptly notifying health authorities.
As a result, households are becoming more confident and proactive in responding to potential health risks. Instead of reacting with fear or uncertainty, families are equipped with the knowledge needed to act responsibly and safely.
This preparedness reduces delays in response and helps prevent transmission within homes, which is one of the most common pathways for Ebola spread.
Your support is helping transform households into the first line of defense against Ebola.
By strengthening preparedness at this level, you are ensuring faster response, safer practices, and stronger community resilience in the face of ongoing health threats.
