Engaging Cross-Border Farmer Groups in Ebola Prevention
Farmer groups are a vital part of rural life in Uganda–DRC border regions, often working together and interacting frequently during planting, harvesting, and trading activities. Because of your support, these groups are being actively engaged in Ebola prevention efforts.
Targeted awareness sessions are being conducted with farmers, focusing on hygiene practices, symptom recognition, and safe interaction during group activities. Farmers are also encouraged to share prevention messages within their households and neighboring communities.
As a result, awareness is increasing in rural areas that may otherwise be difficult to reach. Farmers are adopting safer practices during their work and gatherings, reducing the risk of transmission in agricultural settings.
This engagement ensures that prevention efforts extend beyond urban centers and into the heart of rural communities.
Your support is helping integrate public health awareness into agricultural life - ensuring that essential activities continue safely.
By working with farmer groups, you are strengthening the reach and impact of Ebola prevention efforts across diverse community settings.
