Strengthening Community Rumor Tracking and Response Systems
Rumors and misinformation can significantly undermine Ebola response efforts, creating fear, confusion, and resistance. Because of your support, community-based rumor tracking and response systems are being strengthened across Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Community volunteers and leaders are actively listening for misinformation and reporting it through established channels. Response teams then provide accurate information to address these rumors quickly and effectively.
As a result, misinformation is being identified and corrected before it can spread widely. Communities are receiving clearer, more consistent messaging, which helps build trust and confidence in response efforts.
This proactive approach ensures that communication remains transparent and responsive to community concerns.
Your support is helping ensure that truth and clarity guide community understanding during the outbreak.
By strengthening rumor tracking systems, you are reducing barriers to effective prevention and enabling communities to make informed decisions that protect their health.
