Strengthening Community Resilience and Future Outbreak Preparedness Planning
Building long-term resilience is essential for ensuring that communities are better prepared for future Ebola outbreaks and other public health emergencies. Because of your support, community resilience and preparedness planning initiatives are being strengthened across Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Communities are being engaged in discussions on lessons learned from current response efforts, including what has worked well and what can be improved. Local leaders, health workers, and community members are contributing to developing practical preparedness strategies.
As a result, communities are becoming more proactive in planning for future health risks. There is increased awareness of the importance of early detection, rapid response, and sustained prevention practices.
These efforts are helping shift communities from reactive response to proactive preparedness.
Your support is helping build systems and mindsets that extend beyond the current outbreak.
By strengthening resilience planning, you are ensuring that communities are better equipped to face future health challenges with confidence and coordination.
