Development Alert continues encouraging community members to follow health guidance, report suspected illness promptly and cooperate with trained healthcare and surveillance teams.
The latest outbreak figures demonstrate the scale of pressure facing health systems in affected parts of the DRC, where thousands of confirmed cases have required continued response efforts.
Community cooperation can help reduce unnecessary exposure by encouraging people to seek professional guidance instead of attempting risky informal care.
We also promote respect for health workers and response teams, whose work requires them to operate in difficult and sometimes dangerous environments.
