We launched a project to support families of cancer patients on GlobalGiving six months ago. The number of families who have contacted us has already exceeded 50 and we have already managed to raise almost 40% of the target amount. Also thanks to the funds from this campaign, we were able to hire two new psychologists, and we are also planning to open a social worker position in the near future. The increase in demand for some services has reached 50% - this year the crisis line handled 60 clients in January and February, compared to only 41 clients last year. So the expansion of the team comes hand in hand with the increase in demand for psychosocial help from cancer patients.
Volunteers have started going to other hospitals, and also to new departments. We are therefore preparing two more training sessions for new volunteers in April.
Then, the whole month of March we are running a communication campaign called "The Month of the tulips", where we inform the public about oncology issues and also volunteers decorate the hospitals with pictures.
